“Small details are the largest part” is Mrs. Chapman’s credo and an example of the strength of her finishing touches is in the photographic portraits she stages and shoots of her design clients and portrait patrons.
“Without intentionally styling them as such, many of my portraits resonate the moods of great painters such as Titian, Vermeer and Sargent and I credit much of this to the play of natural light. In the tradition of the sublime set director, interior designer and photographer, Sir Cecil Beaton, who was fascinated with the blending of human beauty in equal balance with the environment of the sitting, I prepare and aim for the same result. I love the charm of a good photographic portrait.
